Westfield Elementary School

LOCATION:  Edmond, Oklahoma

Edmond Public Schools needed a modern, progressive facility that would meet the immediate needs of students. An additional goal for this project was to design a new elementary school facility that would allow for immediate expansion. This is an extremely important feature for Edmond Public Schools, a district that is growing at a rate of approximately 600 students per year. Planning for that growth in the initial design phase allows for easy, cost-effective execution to meet future needs. The architects incorporated a zone format to accommodate those needs beautifully and also developed master site plans, which designates an area for future expansion. The new building is divided into shared spaces, community areas, and academic spaces. Phase III is currently in progress.
