Gateway Community Master Plan

LOCATION:  Hot Springs, Arkansas

The Gateway Community Master Plan, produced in conjunction with Vision Associates, was a four-month study resulting in a comprehensive report that was unanimously adopted by the Hot Springs Board of Directors. The report provided a vision and standards for community growth with regard to zoning, land use, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, and guidelines for streetscape enhancements. The goal of the master plan was to create a gateway community centered around the new civic center and National Park Bath House that would greet tourists and visitors that entered the city, and also serve the families and businesses that call this area home. After the inventory and analysis phase, we established action items related to zoning, circulation and streetscapes to guide the Steering Committee through a multi-phase improvement process. Funding strategies were listed to aid in securing grants, sponsorships and other funding sources.
