Mississippian Play

Because these areas consist of mature source rock widely distributed throughout the southern midcontinent, they are an attractive target for unconventional oil and gas development. Furthering their appeal is the locally produced oil and gas from naturally fractured intervals in conventionally completed wells.

In addition, drilled intervals have yielded oil from the cutting and cores producing gas response on mudlogs, confirming that this region contains anomalously high oil and gas quantities. This solidifies the commercial viability of this region and provides incentive for additional exploration and development.

With our main focus on pipelines and well locations in this region, our Energy Division has surveyed over 500 well locations and 7,000,000 linear feet of pipeline routes since November 2010. Our Energy Division is also involved in surveys and research which aid in right-of-way acquisition for production companies.
