Health Professions - NWACC
The Northwest Arkansas Community College’s Center for Health Professions houses nursing, physical/ occupational therapy, and allied professions at the community college. The facility provides much needed office space for the instructors and staff as well as the instructional spaces they teach in. Student gathering areas provide areas where students and instructors can socialize and interact with each other in a relaxed and informal setting. Major classrooms can be grouped together by opening moveable walls to accommodate large groups and presentations. The facility is equipped with technology to record the students as they perform duties that would be expected of them in hospital settings. The EMT classroom lab is equipped with an ambulance simulator, bringing students even closer to real-world experiences inside the classroom. This project achieved LEED® silver certification by using sustainable materials, and implementing sustainable site design.
