Interstate 40 rehabilitation - Pope, Faulkner, Johnson, and Conway Counties, AR
Extensive traffic plans were required for the 54 mile I-40 rehabilitation project to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic on the busy road. The projects were completed on a compressed timeline, allowing the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) to meet its construction schedule, which was critical to the flow of bond funding. The existing concrete pavement was rubblized and overlaid with asphalt, and all the roadside safety features were replaced as part of the project. Several pairs of main bridge structures were replaced and three bridges were jacked to provide minimum vertical clearances over existing roadways.
