Tahlequah Comprehensive Plan
The Crafton Tull Team was selected to lead the community through the planning process that culminated in the production of a comprehensive plan for the City of Tahlequah in northeast Oklahoma. This scenic college town with an approximate population of 16,000 desired a vision for growth as well as a focus on their fiscal impacts, development strategies and zoning recommendations.
A large public engagement component was included in the scope of services. The first public meeting was attended by over 150 residents who provided valuable feedback on their desired vision that will help shape their community’s future. A week-long series of meetings, stakeholder interviews and public gatherings provides additional opportunities for the public to support the planning process with valuable input. The framework plan will be the outcome of the week-long meetings and will be supported by the following plan elements: land use, transportation, housing and neighborhoods, parks, recreation, open space and trails, utilities, infrastructure and community facilities, community character, economic development and capital improvements.
Action plans with implementation strategies as well as funding incentives will be included in the document to guide the community toward the realization of the plan’s directives.
