Whittier and Irving Middle Schools
The Whittier and Irving Middle School buildings are almost identical buildings featuring the same floor plan. As such, both were in dire need of upgrades. Originally built in the 1970s, these schools were designed with an open-concept design meant to enhance more team focused and collaborative teaching strategies. Open concept design meant there were few wall enclosed classroom areas, and this caused a more chaotic environment with the growing number of students over the years and the development of modern teaching methods and technologies. Crafton Tull was hired to upgrade these facilities and solve the traffic and floor plan dysfunctions.
