Rogers High School Athletic Complex
Crafton Tull continued the style of the adjacent high school the firm had designed eight years earlier to this athletics complex. Home bleachers are supported by concrete piers, minimizing cross bracing and allowing concessions and toilets to be placed under the bleachers. The bleachers are designed with an interlocking decking and integral drainage system creating a protected concourse. The turf has sand ballast in addition to the rubber infill and has a full subsurface drainage system. Track curbs in the D-zones are flush trench drains. Outside the corners of the field, there are large eight foot tall berms for overflow seating. Lighting in the Fieldhouse is controlled by motion sensors. Given the size of the site and the power requirements for stadium lighting, a feasibility study was done to minimize the amount of wiring required and optimize operating efficiency.
