Kanis Road Bridge Replacement - Little Rock, AR
Approximately 1,000’ of Kanis Road needed to be realigned in order to provided sufficient sight distance from the intersection of Kanis Road and Walnut Grove Road and to provide a single horizontal curve that was adequate for the posted speed limit. The existing bridge and box culvert were removed and replaced by a single span, pre-fabricated bridge, and Kanis Road was realigned with Walnut Grove Road. Due to the rural setting and relatively high traffic volume on Kanis Road, a temporary bypass over Fletcher Creek was constructed adjacent to the project, so continuous traffic flow could be maintained throughout the project. A pre-fabricated bridge was selected for the project to reduce the construction schedule and for aesthetic purposes.
