PROJECTS
Osage / Turtle Creek Master Plan
Crafton Tull was contracted in 2022 by the City of Rogers to develop a stream restoration master plan for approximately 23,000 linear feet of Osage and Turtle Creek running through the heart of Rogers. The first phase of the Osage/Turtle Creek Master Plan was completed in late 2023. The project was a comprehensive effort with the assistance of Green Watershed Restoration and RiverSHARED.
The project delivered: 1) A planning and feasibility study including geomorphic survey, morphological descriptions, and evaluation of floodplain connectivity through the length of the project. 2) A preliminary stream channel restoration design (10% Plans) based on natural channel design principles where feasible. 3) A basis of design report detailing the goals and objectives of the project with explanation of the available options, a scoring rubric for deciding preferred alternatives, and justification for decisions underlying the proposed design.
This information was delivered through a design plan set, a technical report detailing the project findings and decisions, an executive summary report, presentations, and a multi-criteria decision analysis tool for analyzing project priorities and justifying project design decisions. The project is paused in its current iteration as the City determines if they would like to expand the project reaches for an additional 55,000 linear feet, or if they would like to solely focus on developing the current reach to full design to begin implementation. The City of Rogers is using this project to create a connected green corridor through the city, and to connect gaps in their existing trail network for improved accessibility through the city.
