In the Fall of 2022, Crafton Tull was commissioned to prepare three concurrent planning studies for the City of Searcy: Parks and Recreation, Active Transportation, and Infrastructure. These three plans were viewed collectively as one holistic planning process titled #MySearcy with the goal of establishing a vision through public engagement to improve the City’s quality of life, access, and built environment. Crafton Tull and the City of Searcy approached the planning process with the goal of setting medium- and long-term goals and immediately addressing short term goals where possible. The first community event was a huge success with more than 300 in attendance, including Searcy’s minority communities, families with young children, college students from Harding University, and senior citizens.

The outcomes of the #MySearcy Plan included wide support for all three plans, a ranked list of unconstrained infrastructure tasks, and major early implementation projects focused on enhancing local quality of life and regional tourism opportunities. In November of 2023, Crafton Tull assisted with the development of a RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) grant application which included writing, mapping analysis, stakeholder engagement, and more. The effort was successful: In 2024, Searcy was awarded $4.2 million to complete the design, planning analysis, and final community engagement for a 15.5-mile trail expansion. Perhaps most notably, citizens voted to pass a $110 million bond project in March of 2024 that will fund a state-of-the-art sports park, community center, and aquatics center, aligning with the goals of the Park System Master Plan.
