James Montgomery is an Executive Vice President who leads the Survey Division at Crafton Tull, and he is also the office manager for the Crafton Tull Hot Springs location. He is a registered professional surveyor in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas with experience in boundary maintenance, topography, cadastral, control, structural deformation, construction layout, hydrographic, and engineering surveys.

James started his career in Dallas – Fort Worth, Texas, after graduating from the University of Arkansas, providing support surveys to architectural and engineering design projects in both private and public sectors before returning to his home state of Arkansas in 1992. During his career, he has worked extensively with the transportation departments in Arkansas and Texas and the Corps of Engineers in the Fort Worth District and Little Rock District. Highlights of his career include working in 61 of Arkansas’ 75 counties for the Arkansas Department of Transportation and working along the Rio Grande River for the Corps of Engineers.

James is a past president of the Arkansas Society of Professional Surveyors, the Hot Springs Metro Partnership, and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas and currently serves on the boards for the Hot Springs Civil Service Commission and the Land Survey Division of the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office. He and his wife, Karen, have two children.
